Online course overview

Our online MBA – Finance & Accounting study programme is highly practice-oriented and will provide you with all the business administration and specialist knowledge you’ll need as a future manager in finance and accounting.

Among other things, you’ll learn about the factors that influence financial decisions at the management level, which financing options are available in international capital markets and how to implement large finance projects successfully.

In addition, you’ll familiarise yourself with international accounting standards and gain detailed knowledge on the topics of investment analysis and portfolio management. Once you graduate, you’ll have the skills to optimise corporate financial performance in a sustainable manner.

Entry requirements

The admissions documents must be provided in English or German. If they were not issued in one of these two languages, a translation is required. If you need to translate your documents, we can help refer you to our trusted translation partners

  • Completed, undergraduate degree with 180 ECTS credits
  • Your degree must be from a state or state-recognised higher education institution/university
  • You must have achieved a final grade of at least “satisfactory” or Grade C equivalent in your previous undergraduate degree
  • Proof of at least one year’s professional work experience completed prior to the start of study programme. Work experience must have been gained after completion of your undergraduate studies

Depending on your personal circumstances, you might be required to provide proof of your English language proficiency. Your skills would need to match the B2 level of the Common European Framework (CEF).

Risk Manager

As a risk manager, your job is to analyse business decisions with regard to their risks for the company. At a bank, for example, this means assessing the credit default risk before a lending decision is made. In the case of takeovers or mergers, you check whether they will actually result in the desired potential. And if a new product is to be launched on the market, you are responsible for a detailed competitive analysis. Your goal is always to identify and analyse potential risks and develop scenarios to minimise risks.

As a financial controller, your job is to measure the profitability of a company using key performance indicators. You uncover weaknesses, risks, and potential for improvement in the company and develop efficient solution concepts - often in cooperation with the specialist departments. If these concepts are implemented, you are responsible for the central recording and evaluation of the implementation progress and success and, if necessary, initiate adjustment measures.

Compliance officers have a controlling and supervisory function in companies. Your goal is to develop an organisational structure in which all employees can comply with legal regulations. You regularly inform employees about legal regulations and internal guidelines and initiate training in this area. You introduce adequate control mechanisms so that violations of regulations can be identified.
